The Kent Exiles secured their second victory of the 2009 season with a nailbiting, high scoring, record setting game against the Cambridgeshire Cats.

In a game in which the lead changed hands at the drop of a hat, it was a last minute interception from linebacker Aaron Alexis that sealed victory, but this was a game in which both offences were the stars.

The Exiles won behind a great display from Quarterback Aaron Griffiths who threw for 335 yards and five touchdowns on the day, he was ably assisted by his star receiving corps of Rich McHugh (7 catches, 156 yards, 3 TD), Sean Starwind (4 catches, 81 yards, 2 TD) and Clive Palumbo (8 catches, 98 yards).

The Exiles other scores came courtesy of the running game, who were buoyed by a great performance from the Exiles Offensive Line, with Paul Samartin scoring his first TD of the season, and Stewart Muir scoring three. Those three touchdowns moved Muir into sole possession of the Exiles all-time scoring record with 232 points.

The Exiles now have a week to rest before a visit from the Peterborough Saxons, and will be looking to improve their defensive frailties exposed in this game. Full details can be found on the Exiles website,
