Exiles round out season in style!

Kent Exiles 46-22 Sussex Thunder

The Exiles Juniors rounded out their comeback season with a fine victory over the Sussex Thunder, and Connor Hassan announced himself as a breakout star of the future with 5 touchdowns.

The game started slowly, for both sides until the Exiles found the end zone first through that man Hassan, who took a nice pass from Yani Ourabah in stride and evaded tacklers for the touchdown. Danny Whitfield hauled in the 2 point conversion, but it was called back on a penalty and then missed, so the Exiles led 6-0.

The teams then traded interceptions, with Ayo Fadahunsi-Oduyemi snagging one for the Exiles, before The Thunder got one back as the Exiles threatened to score again after Danny Burkes catch had got them inside the 5 yard line. The Thunder capitalised by driving downfield and Ben Kelly sprinted in for the score which was converted by Douglas Bartlett's catch from Kelly, and it was 8-6 Thunder at the half.

The second half turned out to be an explosion of points, starting with Hassan taking back the opening kickoff for the touchdown, this time Whitfield's conversion counted, and the Exiles led again.

The Thunder struck back, Jose DosSantos catching the score from Kelly, but a missed conversion meant the scores were tied. The Sean O'Brien finished a nice drive from 8 yards out, and Han Whitmore ran in the conversion, for a 22-14 lead.

The third period ended with the thunder tying it up again, this time Bartlett from Kelly, and then Kelly once again with the conversion, but the fourth quarter was to be all one way traffic as the Exiles pulled ahead...

Hassan caught two quick scores from Ourabah, before Whitfield added a touchdown of his own, then Hassan ended the game in style, scoring his fifth touchdown and giving the final score of 46-22.
