Juniors make it an undefeated home record!

On Sunday the 17th July, the Exiles Juniors played their final home game of the regular season against the visiting Solent Thrashers. Perfect weather, accompanied by Football America and Magners cider, meant the scene was set for what would be a great day.

The Thrashers took the ball first, and thanks to tough tackling from Bryn Cotter, Luke Boxall and Eoin Hunt, they didn’t get far, forcing a punt after only three plays. The Exiles offense looked to capitalise, as WR Henry Young took a short pass from QB James Cook all the way to the endzone for the game’s first score. The extra point was added by WR Yani Ourabah. 8-0 Exiles. This first drive seemed to summarise the rest of the game, as WR Connor Hassan and RB Prince Wynter both made their way to the endzone multiple times before halftime. Great defense from Gareth Norman, Liam Riley, Olly Gadd, Rael Green-Thompson, Sam Adams and Euan Johnston allowed the offense to pile on the points whilst keeping Solent scoreless. The score at halftime: Exiles 30-0 Solent.

The game carried on in this fashion for the rest of the day, as the line of scrimmage was dominated by Savior Onuorah, Sam Harley, Harry Costin, Hamish Elliott and Jacques O’Dwyer, preventing any possibility of a revitalized Solent. WR’s Connor Hassan and Yani Ourabah scored yet again in the second half, as well as RB Prince Wynter, scoring his second of the day. A dominant performance from the Exiles was the perfect way to finish off the year at home, and a great momentum boost going into the final game of the season against the London Blitz, in what will be the division title. Another great day at the Beaverwood and an undefeated record at home for the Exiles in 2016. Final score: Exiles 50-0 Solent.
