Exiles win Quarter Final game against Mustangs!

The Kent Exiles secured their place in the Semi Finals of the BAFA Division 1 playoffs with a superb 39-8 win over the Doncaster Mustangs at the Beaverwood Club on Sunday.
Doncaster brought a depleted squad of players south to Kent after a strong season and it was always going to be a tough ask for them to beat an Exiles team which was nearly at full strength.
The Exiles were dominant throughout especially in the run-game with five rushing touchdowns and all three running backs notching at least one score.
Kent scored on their second offensive drive of the game as quarterback Zac Ritchie found receiver Adam Lillis on back-to-back plays before running back Dan Exell punched the ball in for the opening touchdown.

Despite Kent easily keeping the Mustangs at bay during the first quarter, they were unable to make the clear advantage count and Ritchie threw an interception late in the quarter. However they reinforced their lead with two more quick touchdowns in the second half from Gabriel Quartey.

After the break, the Exiles extended their lead further with a huge 60-yard score from Exell and another touchdown from George Eghator.

The Mustangs were able to get a consolation score in the fourth quarter but the Exiles defence then responded with an interception return for a touchdown by Aaron Patterson to secure an emphatic victory.
Zac Ritchie had 93 yards passing in the game whilst Gabriel Quartey had 104 yards on the ground, Daniel Exell had 90 and George Eghator chipped in with 68 yards in addition to his touchdown.

Next up for the Exiles is a huge road trip up to Edinburgh for the semi-finals where they will hope to keep their amazing season going.
