Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing

American Football, like many other team sports can have huge benefits for both our physical and mental health – but just as it’s important to maintain good physical fitness and health, it’s really important we pay attention to our mental health and wellbeing, and know where to go for help if we need it.

The following list has contact details of some local and national organisations who can support if required.

In an emergency you can contact NHS 111 and ask for Option 2 – this is a national single point of access for anyone in a mental health crisis, regardless of age.

If it isn’t an emergency, the best route to getting help is often to speak to your GP as early as you can. Your GP can then refer you to the most appropriate service that can help.

The services below don’t require you to have spoken with your GP and are places you can refer yourself.
