Exiles secure NFL academy places

Nine Exiles Players Gain Places At The NFL Academy
The life-changing opportunity of gaining one of 80 places at the newly formed NFL Academy became reality for 9 (yes, you read that correctly!) Exiles Youth and Junior players. Over the past few weeks, hundreds of applicants (aged 16-18 years of age) have taken part in a series of physical try outs and character assessment exercises, with the leading 150 invited for a final testing day at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Nine Exiles were given provisional places, dependent on meeting academic requirements.

The NFL Academy is a unique programme that gives aspiring young American football players and outstanding athletes the chance to develop their skills and knowledge of the game.

Alongside elite coaching, athletes will study courses of their choice at Barnet and Southgate College.

There will also be a character development programme for students to give them all the tools to be successful in whatever pathway they take following the NFL Academy.

Athletes will be given access to elite sports training facilities, kit and equipment, as well as an opportunity to learn from players and coaches from the NFL.

They will be involved in outreach projects in the local community and be given a pathway for apprenticeships and higher education opportunities (in the UK and US).

The club are extremely proud of their Academy teams, with 21 graduates now representing the team in our Premiership Adult Team, and 9 being selected to play in the new NFL Academy, it shows our commitment to developing our younger age groups is proving successful.
Congratulations to the players who have been selected to join the NFL Academy.
