Kent Exiles vs Farnham Knights 28/7/19.
On the 28th July 2019 the Kent Exiles battled against the Farnham Knights at the Beaverwood Club in their final game of the season. This would be the most important game of the season for the Exiles as it would decide which team would face relegation into Division 1. The first half of the game proved to be tough for both sides, with the score at the half remaining 0-0. However touchdowns in the 3rd quarter from Wesley Eversley and Tom Lee gave the Exiles a 13-0 lead. The Exiles defence continued to dominate the Knights offence with defensive back Nick Mayer intercepting the Farnham quarterback twice.
With five minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, Oliver Carroll recovered a fumbled snap from the Knight’s punter for a five yard touchdown. This gave the Exiles a 19-0 lead. Unfortunately, the punter was injured on the play, and after a lengthy wait for an ambulance to arrive, the referees called the game, awarding the Exiles the win.
The Exiles are now preparing for their second year in the Premiership division. If you are interested in playing, get in touch through our Twitter or Facebook.
