Lewis Leads New Regime at Exiles U17 Program

The Kent Exiles are pleased to announce that Steve Lewis is to take the reigns as Head Coach of the whole Exiles U17 Kitted Program.

The Exiles have built a successful program over the past 10 years or so, and last year saw the club field two teams in the National Leagues, the Rebels and the Outlaws.

Coach Lewis was Head Coach of the Rebels, guiding them to an undefeated season, and ultimately 3rd place in the National Championships, only losing by last minute score to eventual champions Cobham Cougars in the semi-final.

In 2018 Coach Lewis will oversee both teams, in a move that is designed to strengthen the Exiles U17 program. 2018 will see both teams training together and running the same schemes to allow easier transition from the Outlaws (the development team) into the Rebels. It also means all players will benefit from more positional coaching from the whole U17 coaching staff.

The move also means the Exiles can offer players more practice time, as the team will now train on both Sunday and Thursday for the first time.

With most of last year’s squad returning, and being bolstered by 10 graduating players from the Exiles booming flag programme, the team has already seen over 35 players commit to the 2018 season.

The Exiles are also pleased to announce that Coach Bryan Mann will be assisting Coach Lewis, Coach Mann has led the Exiles U14 Flag Team for the past 3 years with great success, and will be joining many graduates from his tutelage.

Sessions are starting now, so if you’d like to join the team for the 2018 season, and help us push for the National Championship, then get in touch today via contactus@kentexiles.co.uk or our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
