Exiles Juniors V Hertfordshire Cheetahs Game Report

Juniors back to winning ways
Exiles juniors got back to winning ways and improved their record to 3-1 on the season with a well-earned 36-12 victory over the previously-undefeated Hertfordshire Cheetahs.
The Exiles opened the scoring on their second drive of the game when quarterback George Reynolds connected on an 80-yard touchdown pass to a fellow Great Britain Lion in running back Bolaji Adewale.
The home side then doubled their advantage when safety Michael Krawczak snagged the first of two interceptions on the day and returned the pick to the end zone for a touchdown. The Exiles defense produced another interception from Callum O’Neill and Harvey Beard and Sean Lewis combined to force a fumble that was recovered by Joe Rowe.
Hertfordshire responded with big plays either side of halftime, levelling the scores on a long kickoff return and a touchdown run.
But the Exiles’ response was immediate as they took control of the game in the third quarter.
Joshua Quartey put the juniors back in front with a long sprint and Reynolds added the conversion throw to Tom Walters. Reynolds then lofted a 65-yard touchdown strike to Julius Sireikis before O’Neill produced a ridiculous catch in the corner of the end zone for the additional two points. Adewale concluded the scoring with another big play as he ran around, through and away from Hertfordshire defenders.
The Exiles are back at home this weekend as they host the Thames Valley Tigers at Beaverwood on Sunday June 30. Kickoff is at 12 noon.
